The Smoke House is the latest venture by Tim Byres of the acclaimed Dallas barbecue restaurant Smoke. Located in the historic Mulkey-Loggins house at Founders Row in Midlothian, Texas, The Smoke House is a back-to-basics restaurant with a wood-burning stove at its heart, which churns out most of the menu.<\\\/p>\\r\\n\\r\\n

The food is locally and regionally sourced, made with integrity, and creates a sense of nostalgia. Food should bring a community to the table, and it is their goal to deliver an experience that is both authentic and down-home. Modern Texas Cuisine at its finest<\\\/p>\\r\\n\\r\\n

Nearly everything is made in-house from sausages, sauces, pickles and breads to wood-infused spirits and aged batch cocktails. Seared scallops, grilled quail and bricked Cornish hen share equal space on The Smoke House menu with big flavor smoked meats.<\\\/p>\\r\\n\\r\\n

The Smoke House is anticipated to be one of the most interesting and important restaurants in Ellis County and bring a wealth of culinary artistry to the area with a new approach to cooking and dining.<\\\/p>\\r\\n\\r\\n

Prior to Smoke, Tim cooked in the United States embassy in Belgium and at the posh Rosewood\\u2019s Mansion on Turtle Creek. But it was a calling for \\u201cback to basics\\u201d cooking that yielded his acclaimed Oak Cliff\\u2019s barbecue pit, which he opened with partners in 2009.
